Trademark question about the categories you can put for your trademark?
Okay I know for my trademark that’s like the look I want for my company, but maybe later I might wanna dabble into using that same design in other areas. When you apply for a trademark do you check all the boxes of categories that your trademark applies to (clothes, kitchenware, business logo, manufacturing, toys, etc i’m not sure what categories there are but it’s similar to this) and the big question is, is it free or do you have to pay the same price (around 200) for each category?
thanks
it’s USA. I just want to get it exposed enough so that even if a big company comes by and trademarks it, i can have a case. ya know.
What country are you wanting to file the trademark? Each country has different filing fees so it’s hard to answer your question without knowing.
For the USA, it’s $325 per classification.
There are 45 different classes all products/services are categorized into. Use this search engine to help you figure out what goods/services go into what classes:

Of course, it’s necessary to research the mark comprehensively prior to filing to ensure that there is no possibility of infringing upon another party.
This entails searching the pending & registered Federal and State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files. Then, if clear, you can decide if you would like to file for a Federal or a State trademark. State trademark fees vary, anywhere from $10 to $125 per class.
Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!
